Programs

The Gordie Foundation offers several Programs that can be used independently or in conjunction with initiatives already in place on campuses or within a community. The Foundation staff can help advise what Program might work best for your event or campaign. Our Program packages are great tools for community leaders, administrators, educators and students alike.

Circle of Trust

The Circle of Trust was created in Gordie Bailey’s honor to help educate students about the dangers of alcohol; including binge drinking, alcohol poisoning, hazing, and their many side effects.

HAZE the Movie

The purpose of HAZE is to present a dramatic and impressive case that it is time for the nation to wake up and aggressively confront the national health crisis surrounding binge drinking that leads to over 1700 student deaths across America each year.  HAZE is now available for purchase by educational institutions and can be streamed on-line at SnagFilms.com.  The film will be available for individual purchase soon.

National GORDIEday Registration

Join with thousands of colleges, universities and high schools across the country for National GORDIEday on October 22, 2008.

GORDIEawareness Day

A display of 1700 green Gordie flags are placed on your campus representing the over 1700 student lives lost each year to alcohol related deaths.

News Alert

The Gordie Foundation staff sends our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Brett Griffin. Brett was a freshman at the University of Delaware and a pledge of Sigma Alpha Mu who died Saturday November 8th of an alcohol overdose after drinking with fellow pledges and actives at an off-campus house.  According to those who knew him, Brett was "a kid everyone wanted to be around" and he will surely be missed.

Speaking Engagements

The value of a personal story is immeasurable. Leslie and Michael Lanahan have traveled to campuses across the nation telling Gordie’s story and the impact this loss has had on their family.

Foundation Quote
"My son had to call an ambulance to help his fraternity brother who had too much to drink.  He said recalling the words of a speaker from The Gordie Foundation was what made him know that he needed to call for medical assistance."
